Irreplaceable! (I have a work commitment tomorrow morning.)

Heart skipped a beat (or several) when I saw this in the canal this morning…

View of a canal looking towards a bridge - in the dark water there's something orange...Close up of the orange something in the dark water of the canal - it's a hi-viz work jacket with a hood and arms...

Annual (eek!) morning walk.

Photo from the canal towpath looking towards a green narrowboat moored on the towpath side, with two white swans swimming in the black water

When I first went to university, one of my first mates was a very quiet and shy bass player, a Geordie skinhead called Tim. Tim was into getting stoned and listening to Frank Zappa. I never got into Zappa. But I am now.

Those were the days.

Screenshot of a Facebook "Memory" - a cross-post of an Identi.ca post (or "dent") from thirteen years ago: "I wonder if @rpcutts is still on the quiet coach, tied to the toilet seat by a group of unruly children, somewhere between Darlo & Leeds?"

Wife has returned home after being abducted by aliens (scroll down past the football).

Last night, I watched ToryBoy The Movie.

This morning, I watched unelected former Tory Prime Minister and Jewish National Fund patron David Cameron become the UK’s new Foreign Secretary.

Bit of a damp squib today, but eleven years ago these were the scenes the morning after Diwali.

Colourful empty "Nightmare" fireworks case.Colourful empty "Godstrikes" fireworks case.Large and small empty "Lethal mines" fireworks case.Street corner littered with fireworks detritus, opposite terraced houses.

Into our seventh hour of relentless fireworks.

Happy Diwali in Little India. 🎆
