Talking of Chumbawamba has sent me down another memory hole today.

I have some hazy memories of following another anti-fascist band, Blaggers ITA, around in the early ’90s. I seem to remember playing football with them in Manchester at one time. That was after the pub closed on a hot Sunday afternoon to kill some time before their gig in the evening.

In 1988, the great American novelist Kurt Vonnegut wrote a letter to the human race of 2088.

It’s been a Chumbawamba sort of a day. Anarchy, A Singsong and a Scrap, and A Night of Punk Nostalgia.

I thought micro.blog was down all morning, but just realised it was something to do with my DNS service.

This morning’s walk.

The view from the top of the new hills is a bunch of half-built skyscrapers and cranes.

The entrance from the park to the new wetlands (designed to prevent flooding) was flooded.

Two yellow bulldozers work on a dirt hill behind a metal fence under a clear blue sky.A person in a high-visibility jacket sits on a bench near a construction site with cranes in the background.A large puddle stretches across a muddy path near a field with two metal goals and surrounded by hedges.A small pond with stepping stones reflects the clear blue sky, surrounded by a dry, grassy landscape.A serene landscape features a small stream reflecting the bright sun, surrounded by trees and grassy areas.

Listening again to the unlistenable episode one, and it’s incredibly relevant right from the off. People getting angry on social media and getting fired from their jobs, conflict in the middle east, upsetting people who say or do stupid things, shitposting, pile ons and the ultimate microblogging moment. All in the first six minutes.

Probably time to officially call it a day on #tinap @andyc@mastodon.me.uk.

Almost 16 years from conception, and a full 9 politically incorrect episodes later. On hiatus since our ultimate 2013 episode with the Godfather of ActivityPub @evan@cosocial.ca.
