30 (it feels like) 35 years after Charlie Pepper took the first train out town on the morning after England’s semi-final defeat to Germany, Hovercraft have virtually reunited to perform, and record their greatest non-hits.

“Sir” Gareth Southgate’s penalty shootout miss heralded a new era of failure for Ingerland’s golden generation, and it heralded the end of the road for Hovercraft before we’d even got out on the highway.

A missed opportunity, and it’s too late, it’s still too late, to do anything about it now, of course.

Thanks to the wonders of new technology, and burning through enough clean water to keep a small town hydrated for over a year, we’re able to produce for your listening pleasure a recreation of some of our favourite tunes.

There’s a few intros, outros, middle bits and various other things missing, and some unexpected new additions, but overall I think the songs here generally keep then essence of the band and the spirit of the songs. And they’re easier to listen to than our mangled old tapes converted to digital and overly compressed.
